A Silent call for HELP

Do you hear it?  Can you see it?

I have been seeing on social media and news media a silent call for help.

We see before us on a daily basis lies and hate that seem so prominent today in our lives, and there seems to be overwhelming for some sometimes.

When I start my day, I begin with God and me.  I pray to know that his Love surrounds me and I dwell in the house of the Lord, meaning to me that He is ever present and there is no place I can go where He is not there.  It helps me begin each day with the power to know the difference between the lies and the truth presented to me.  I like to pray the Lords’ Prayer, the Prayer that Jesus gave to us.  I reach to the Laws of God and the Blessing they bring.  That’s not to say that my day goes without glitches, but when I begin my day with prayer with God, He meets all my needs as I need them.

Jesus taught us to “Do unto others as ye would have them do unto you” in his famous Sermon on the Mount.  He taught us to Love our neighbors as we love ourselves, and he taught us it was most important to “Love the Lord thy God with all your heart ..”  This enables me to start my day heading in the right direction, Listening for God’s word to come to me. To hear only the Truth about God and Man in God’s likeness.  To reach out to anyone who may need assistance and help my neighbor.

But to some their day seems filled with darkness and they can’t see to find the light in their thinking.  Woe is me!

Some suffer with grief and agony in their lives. They may be suffering from addictions, addictions to drugs, alcohol, or addicted to bad habits that are harming them and their lifestyle such as gambling and losing the financial security they once had built up.    There is horror and terror on every side and they may resort to self-harm, self-hate by cutting themselves hitting and hurting oneself or behaving sexually abhorrent showing no morality.    They do not see hope or have faith for solutions to their sorrows. They may proclaim to not believe there is a God. They seem to be extremely depressed and barely functioning and their body is shutting down, except for the ways that are necessary to them.  Sleep, eat, work, eat, watch TV, sleep.  It is a vicious circle.

There is so much hate out there.  We see it constantly in governments universally, to where the government is shut down because each side hates the other and nothing is getting accomplished.  This hate shows in ways that are harmful to all of us.  Hating one another because of skin color, or party affiliation, or position.  Where is integrity and where can we look for leadership?

Just recently the news story broke of a young African American who was reported to have been mugged and racial slurs were railed at him and a rope or noose was threatened him.  What a horrible story.  It was hard to believe that this could happen here in America.    It is pure hate lifting its head to bite at the heel…He was injured, and he sought medical help. This was on the news constantly for several days.   Many people were not only offended but used it to hate some more; but as the days passed and after considerable investigation by the authorities, we found that this story was not true.  It was totally fabricated.  Talk about asking for Help.  The young man made up this lie for what reason?  Hate?  The lie has been uncovered.  The lie and the liar are again the same.  The young man needs our prayers to see him in his true light where there is no hate but only the shelter of divine Love.

When someone greets these neighbors with “Hi!  how are you” they think within themselves, you can’t handle the truth that I am so sorrowful and feel so hopeless I could scream, so I’ll say “Fine, how are you?” when instead they should answer, I need help.  Help me please.

When Life seems so miserable, suicide sounds like a solution.  Help me Please!!

Help is here for God is here, right now, everywhere, we don’t need to wait for him to catch up with us, he is already with us, now, here this instant.

There is one who cries, and the one who hears our cries and leads us to where we need to be to get the help we are asking.

Let’s look at these cries and spiritualize our thoughts about them.  Let’s see if we can help them.

Grief and agony is brought on by others who wish us harm, or bullies.  Someone being bullied by another suffers from their unkind words and deeds, using neighbors not as Jesus instructed, but seeking their selfish needs in another’s agony.  We think of children being cruel to another child by bullying for whatever reason just to be able to do it.  Well bully you! Bullying itself has no power over you.

Let’s begin with God. We have been taught that there is one God and one God only.  This God is Good, because it tells us in the Bible in Genesis chapter 1 that God did only good.  He created all that there is and behold “it was very good.”  “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion … So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”  This is the Man we want to concentrate on today.  God’s man, made in His image and likeness.  My Father.  My Mother.  Your Father, Your Mother

A definition of God in our Textbook, (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy) “GOD.  The great I AM; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence.”

And elsewhere in the book a question is asked “What is God?

Answer. – God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love…  Question. – Is there more than one God or Principle?  Answer. – There is not.  Principle and its idea is one and this one is God, omnipotent, omniscient, and omni-present Being, and His reflection is man and the universe.”

Can I tell God about Bullying?  God already knows all there is to know about His creation, so what is there to report?  Well, God does not know evil, bullying.  So where is this bullying known?  In my thought.  So, what am I really seeing?  The good that God created, or a lie?  Must be a lie, but because it is a lie it has no power to attach itself to my thinking.  I can’t be afraid of it for the Bible reports “perfect Love casteth out fear.”  And perfect Love is God.  If we fill our consciousness with the definition of God, there is no place for a lie to rest.  It is not real.  And no matter how many believe the lie, it is still just a lie.  But let’s broaden our thought some to include the one who is doing the bullying.  Can this child of my Father be bad?  God created only Good and I can love this child, my brother or sister.  I can see him in all his perfection, not as the liar.  The world may be yelling to me that this liar is the real man, but does that make it so?  No and Jesus told me to do unto others……Can I do less.  As the lie and the liar are called out, they disappear.  The one being bullied can now be enclosed with the peace that Love bestows on him.

Suffering from addictions may seem a wall so high that we can’t climb over it, but remember, God is already there. With God already there, you will not be alone.  You can face this great demon with the knowledge that you are His perfect child and that all power is bestowed by God, your Father and there is no power to enslave you and bind you to this belief that the addiction feeds you with something better tasting that what God serves you, or freedom.  You need only look up, see the light that God bestows on you and walk, one steip at a time out of the darkness of this addiction  into the light of Truth.  For Truth told is that you reflect all the power that is necessary to take that first step.  That first step is in your thinking.  Fill your thoughts full of God and His child you.  See yourself as the perfect reflection of the perfect God.  You are His idea and he gave you dominion over the evil of this world.  You want no part of the darkness only the light.

In the Bible there is a story of a young man who wanted his part of his inheritance to go and travel and experience life.  So his father gave him his inheritance and he went into another country and spent all that he had on things that gave him pleasure, but were not lasting.  When he lost all that had been given to him he was forced to go and find a job.  He found one but it was feeling the swine, not a job I would look forward to but it was all that he could find.  He was hungry and tired and one night he thought within himself that his father had hired servants working for him that were well fed a paid a decent wage and he decided to go home and ask his father to forgive him and ask to give him a job.  So the son went home.  But guess what, when he was a great way off, his father saw him and ran to him and kissed him and welcomed him home.  This is the story of the prodigal son found in Luke Chapter 15

Forgiveness, how powerful it is, but think here a minute you must forgive yourself, before you can ask forgiveness of others. You forgive yourself when you release yourself from your addictions by trusting and loving God, your father to lead you.  Can you do that?  Of course you can.

Self-harm, self-hate, cutting oneself, hitting or beating yourself, this too is just a lie about you and who you are.  The lesson of the prodigal son should help to alleviate these habits.  They are not good, they are not form God your father.  Your Father would not harm you.  Your Father loves you, you must love yourself – see yourself as the perfect child, for that is all you can be.

As you apply these truths and look for joy you will see that depression just can’t hang onto a mind filled with Love.  It will disappear like fog when the sun come out.

Suicide is not a means to an end.

Again, there is a reference for us in the Bible a healing of Jesus on an epileptic insane boy.  It is found in several books of the Bible, but the one I am referring to is from Matthew 17: 14-21

Jesus had taken three of his disciples (students) with him up to a mountain to pray and there he was Transfigured.  He left nine at the bottom to continue in his word.  When Jesus came down the mountain, a multitude had gathered, and some were arguing together.  Jesus asked what this was about, and a father came to him kneeling who asked saying have mercy on his son: “for he is lunatic and sore vexed; for oftimes he falleth into the fire and oft into the water.”  Mark describes it further, “he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth and pineth away having a dumb spirit.”  Anyway, he spake to his disciples that thou should heal him and they could not cure him.  Jesus talking to all of the multitude said “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you?  How long shall I suffer you?  Bring him hither to me and Jesus rebuked the devil and he departed out him; and the child was cured from that very hour.”  This was an instantaneous healing of insanity.  Isn’t this what suicide is all about?  Thoughts of suicide is insanity.  Jesus went on to tell the disciples that the reason they could not heal it is because of their unbelief.  They needed faith as a grain of mustard seed. But he also said this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

So we must pray and fast.  A good definition of Prayer and Fasting comes to me from Mrs. Eddy “When the illusion of sickness or sin tempts you, cling steadfastly to God and His idea.  Allow nothing but His likeness to abide in your thought.  Let neither fear nor doubt overshadow your clear sense and calm trust, that the recognition of life harmonious – as Life eternally is -can destroy any painful sense of, or belief in, that which Life is not.  Let Christian Science, instead of corporeal sense, support your understanding of being, and this understanding will supplant error with Truth, replace mortality with immortality, and silence discord with harmony.”

Pray to know the Truth that is God and the Life that is Love and that it is eternal.  We fast by not allowing anything into our consciousness except the perfect idea Man made in God’s image and likeness.  Anything else is a lie.

The Bible has given us the way to a firm morality. We have the Ten Commandments that God gave to Moses to give to us; and we have the promise of Beatitudes that Jesus gave to us in his Sermon on the Mount.  I know that when we adhere to these laws, we are blessed and so are those around us.  I know that when we have no other God before Him we cannot be made to break any of the other commandments.  It is just simply not possible.  To follow these commands make us of high morals.

When social media or any means of communication brings you only the bad, it is time to take your stand, turn it off, it is that simple.  Look up and see God’s perfect creation.  Breathe in the spirit of Love, Truth, and Life.  Think only about His creation of you and all mankind and do good to them. Be grateful for the good God has provided you.   God has given you power to do this.  Claim your inheritance now and live in peace.
